Paul Leads the Brethren to War Against the Perverts

Galatians is controversial--necessarily so. This passage in the first chapter is startling. For instance we can paraphrase the message of Galatians 1:6-9 like this: "Your favorite spiritual leaders who have recently latched on to you--and you to them--are spiritual perverts under the curse of God, on thier way to Hell; leading you , if possible, and others there..." The text is meant to startle. Many evangelical people are probably not startled enough by the successful invasion into evangelical local churches of an army of spiritual perverts with a "gospel" that is scarcely aq gospel or no gospel at all. Three simple points: 1. Why War? 2. Enemies Identified 3. Issue at stake
