Did God Do This?

We are made to know God. Knowing God is not like knowing the chemical properties of the sun but like having a relationship with a being who is at the same time King, Father, and Friend. What we know about God informs our relationship with him. As we form friendships, even among equals, we eventually come to know who they are and what they do. So it is with God. To grow in our relationship with God we need to know who is God and what he does. The Bible teaches that God—the one only, living and true God—is a Triune being who is perfect in all of his attributes. One of the attributes of God is his power. That God is powerful means that he acts; he performs; he works. The powerful working of God raises the question of God's decrees.
