Gospel Light On Hallowe'en

A single day to commemorate ALL Christian Martyrs, known and unknown, was established on November 1. In Britain, using the old Anglo-Saxon terms, it was called ALL HALLOWS DAY - that is ALL SAINTS DAY. The Evening before came to be called the Eve of All Hallows, or Hallow's Even or as we say it today taken from Scottish English - Hallowe'en. Although, for many people, Hallowe'en is a harmless day of gorging on candy, and dressing-up to frighten people, and trick-or-treating.

As we shall discover, Hallowe'en has its elements that are far from candy and child's play:

1. Spiritual Darkness

2. Spiritual Danger

3. Spiritual Victory
