The old normal

We are often urged in these days to hit the reset button, to think about 'the new normal.' But what should the church be aiming at? What ought to be our 'old normal,' to which we should aspire, not imposed by men but granted by God? In Acts 2:41–42, Luke describes the root of Christian devotion (entering on the way by gladly receiving the Word of God, being baptised, and added to the church) and the route of Christian devotion (travelling on the way in company with the saints, steadfastly committed to the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and prayer). This is the way of healthy, holy, happy saints.
