Bob Had to Stop and Talk

I stood at the corner of Marquette and Locust, in Davenport, IA (home), with my "Stop And Talk" cross. As I waved to passing motorists, I saw a man walking on the sidewalk, on the opposite side of Locust Street. We made I contact and he waved to me. I waved back.

I watched the man head south on the sidewalk, on Locust Street. After taking several steps in that direction, he stopped, paused for a few moments, turned around, and walked back to the intersection. Once the light changed, he walked across the street toward where I was standing.

His name was Bob. He told me that he had seen me several times on the corner, with my cross. This time he was compelled to stop and talk to me.
