Victory Belongs to the Lord

The lot is cast into the lap, but every decision belongs to the Lord. The finale of Esther illustrates this truth from Prov. 16. Xerxes has issued two competing decrees: destroy the Jews; the Jews can defend themselves. But God, the King of kings, has issued a greater decree for the salvation of His people, for a son of Abraham, and David, to be king and Savior. God's decree wins. His people are preserved.
