John Calvin's Reformation of Public Worship

Embed
689

Before the Reformation of the sixteenth century, worship in the
Roman Catholic Church had deteriorated into sacramentalism and
superstition. How did John Calvin contribute to the great change
in worship that came to the Protestant churches as a result of the
Reformation? What principles did Calvin glean from Scripture that
apply to how the church ought to worship God today? What did
Calvin believe about preaching? How would Calvin evaluate what is
going on in worship in modern Protestantism? These are some of the
questions Professor Cammenga will answer in this speech.
