Seeking the Lost

34 ( 5 | 29 )

One of our biggest problems is questioning or doubting God.
When God doesn't work or answer as we think, we often find ourselves saying or thinking the wrong things.

Listen again to Isaiah 55:8-9
8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD.
9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

The Lord Jesus Christ gave a mission to the apostles and to His church.
The mission was not to sit but to go.
The goal is to make disciples, and we are to do this by going, teaching, and baptizing.

We have a responsibility before the Lord in terms of our witness.

However, we must also study the beautiful truth presented all throughout Scripture – God is the one who ultimately seeks after the lost.

Luke 19:10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

The first part of Luke 15 emphasizes two things:
It is the Sovereign God who seeks the lost. There is great joy in heaven when sinners repent.

We will look at Luke 15:1-10 in two parts:
1] Parable of the Lost Sheep, Luke 15:1-7
2] Parable of the Lost Coin, Luke 15:8-10
