The Rock Twice Struck

INTRODUCTION: The people continue to murmur against Moses and Aaron concerning a lack of water and the death of their brethren. If that were not enough, Miriam and Aaron die and Moses rebels against the Lord. In the midst of all man’s shortcomings, we find a wonderful picture of the Lord Jesus and His grace toward us.

CONCLUSION: Rebellion ends in misery. Unfortunately, people never change; Israel’s rebellious heart abides in us today. Will we learn from their failures? Will we trust the Lord as we ought?
