Why was Abel's sacrifice accepted and Cain's not? Because Abel's was offered "by faith" and Cain's was not. Cain proved his wickedness by growing angry with God, ignoring God's warning about sin, and murdering his brother. He compounds this by lying and arrogantly saying to God, "Am I my brother's keeper?" True faith is seen in how a person lives. Just as a lack of true faith is. But faith itself is a gift of God that no man can earn by so-called righteous deeds.
