War is a Racket

The distinction between Biblically Justified war, and imperial war is an aspect of God's revelation in Scripture, and ought to be understood and maintained by Christians.

Smedley Butler, a highly decorated Marine, and critic of modern US wars, wrote "War is a Racket" stating that at least 21,000 men became millionaires or billionaires during WWI according to tax returns.

Using war to increase one's possessions, authority, or influence, as in imperialism is wickedness. Yet modern War is mostly about controlling resources, trade, and corporate influence, despite the justifications used to influence populations in favor of armed conflict.
