Abraham: Received Confirmation of God's Promise

Thirteen years after the birth of Ishmael, God visited Abraham giving confirmation of the son of promise. God provided the name for Himself: “the Almighty God”. The first name by which God revealed Himself is Elohim, meaning the creator and preserver of the world. Here, it is El Shaddai, God the Mighty One. Belonging to the sphere of salvation, it declared the covenant God will secure His salvation.
