Seven (Deadly) Sins God Hates: Hearts that Devise Evil ( Sermon 4 of 7)

Proverbs 6:16-19 includes the listing of six sins that God hates, yes, seven that are an abomination to him. These differ from the Seven Deadly Sins popularized by Roman Catholic scholasticism. The Seven Deadly Sins are forbidden by Scripture in various places, but the inspired list of our study are found together and reveal hearts and inclinations contrary to the will of God. Importantly, the converse or obverse (depending how you look at it) of each of these sins is the positive demands or desires that God has for us as his people. In forbidding certain sins, he is showing his appreciation or desire for the opposite virtue.

In this sermon the Fourth thing that God hates is considered... A HEART THAT DEVISES WICKED PLANS. God made man in His own image that he might think, plan and devise... not things for evil but in order to discover and develop that which is good.
