Introduction: We often hear of people trying to excuse their bizarre, ungodly, or even criminal behavior by saying they heard the voice of God telling them to do such things.
How do we respond to these claims?
Technology has brought about additional evidence which is now admissible in courts of law, e.g. DNA, photography, video & audio recordings.
God has given us His recorded will through the Holy Scriptures. Throughout the pages of the Bible we hear the voice of God.

Vss. 1-2 with the passion to glorify God's name, cf. John 12: 27

Vss. 3-4 with the prayer that God would pour out the living waters, i.e. His power and majesty by the Holy Spirit.
Cf. Mark 4:39-41, John 4:14, Revelation 1:15; 14:2; 19:6; 21:6; 22:1,17

Vss. 5-7 to proclaim the one name under heaven by which proud sinners may be broken and then born again and stirred up with Holy fire.
John 18:1-6; 3:3, Acts 2

Vss. 8-9 by His promised presence turning a wilderness of sin into a paradise of praise giving us voices to declare His glory.
Matt. 27:50-53, Luke 23:43, John 19:30, Revelation 21:22

Vss. 10-11 by the word of the great King who rules the flood and the people of the earth whose throne is forever and who speaks peace as a blessing,
Luke 1:32, 79; 2:14; John 16:5-15; 18:36-37; Revelation 15:2-4; 17:15, 21:1
