Blue Tassels? Why Blue? The man gathering wood and the Korah rebellion. Connected?

425 ( 352 | 73 )

As we start the lecture we delve into our homework assignment. Deuteronomy 22, 21 and 23. Unfortunately nobody here did the homework (what a shock!), so pastor is stuck doing it for us in class.

Deuteronomy 21:18-23 is about the rebellious son who was hanged on a tree. This takes us to many other places in the Bible and pastor guides us to a few of them. Jesus and Judas come to mind quickly. Galatians 3:13, Matthew 27:5 and Zechariah 11:13.

What got us here is the important thread of wood in the Bible. For the last several Sundays, we have been building the case as to why the man in Numbers 15 was stoned to death by Gods insistence. And what God does next is important; blue tassels on tallit’s.

There are three things that make up a Whole:

Blue Tassels
Harlotry
Exodus

But we are only dealing with Blue tassels. So this should be fairly easy, right? Read along with us. Deuteronomy 22:1-12.

Here's the list pastor puts up on the board. Here you’ll find the meaning of the Blue Tassels:
A. Ox
B. Sheep
C. Goes Astray Isaiah 53:6
D. Don't Hide Yourself
E. Certainly Bring Them Back
F. Brother Not Fear
G. Don't Know Him
H. Own House / Bring
I. Shall Remain
J. Brother Seeks
K. Restore
L. Donkey
M. Garment
N. Any Lost Thing
O. He Has Lost
P. You Have Found
Q. You must not Hide
R. Fallen Oxen
S. Lift Up
T. Don't Hide

Just a few of these takes us all over the Bible.

You've found yourself in the advanced class and you are more than welcome to stay. Come away from those who want you to trust your feelings. There is freedom in the truth of Scripture.

You’ll have questions. So, contact our pastor and ask. It encourages him to hear from you.
