We Descended In Hell

Main Point. The Apostle Paul understood that the Gospel of Jesus Christ could be summarized as "the Righteousness of God revealed." But in order to truly understand this truth, we first must grasp the greatness of our sin and God's just judgment (wrath) against the violation of His revealed will (law). In other words, we must hear the Bad News before we can truly appreciate the Good News.
I. The wrath of God revealed (v. 18)

II. Our knowledge of God is willfully suppression of the truth (v. 19-20)

III. The reason that no one has an excuse (defense) before God (v. 19-21)

Conclusion: Though our sin that can be summarized as ungodliness and unrighteousness, we deserve God's just judgment and wrath, yet thank be to God that He has provided a substitute in the person of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ who became a wrath removing sacrifice on behalf of those who trust in Him alone for salvation.
