One would think that the nation of Israel, which had been born out of God's miraculous deliverance from bondage in Egypt and knew how zealous the Lord was to deliver his people from slavery, would NEVER have repeated the same mistake of the Egyptians, and yet we find in these verses of Jeremiah that that is exactly what they did.
