Christ the Living Water from the Rock

In answer to Israel's question, 'What shall we drink?' God gave them water from a most unlikely source - a flinty rock! And the New Testament teaches that 'they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.'
The Water from the Rock in Exodus 17 is celebrated by the Jews at Tabernacles. This re-enactment of the Water from the Rock in Exodus 17 is known as Simcha Bet Ha-sho-evah.
It is the one which commemorates the drawing of water from the rock at Horeb. In reality it commemorates the day in which the Living Water flowed from the Rock to quench the thirst of all Israel. This sermon wonderfully reveals the Person of Christ from Exodus 17!
