Suffering and the Sinner

The Biblical perspective on the problem of suffering includes the following considerations,

1. The Fall of Man - all suffering may be traced back ultimately to sin, not not all suffering may be connected with particular sin
2. The Purposes of God - purpose in suffering is essential for sufferers and many of God's purposes in suffering are revealed in Scripture
3. The Justice of God - the matter of Hell is an essential element of the Biblical perspective on suffering and evil, and indicates that the universe is a just universe
