Will We Pray?
Series Guest Pastor
"And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart." Luke 18:1 (ESV).
Through passage after passage—citing many examples of not only the apostles, but our incarnate savior as well—Pastor Olinger proclaims the mandate and meaning of prayer: it is the Christian acknowledging his hopelessness without Christ, and yet his awesome hope with Christ.
With Jesus' intercession and the Holy Spirit's help, Christians can ask for everything in our Father's will. Not only this, but our prayers reach his presence and are heard! So will we be distracted by our own thoughts, comforts, or turmoil and neglect our salvation through silence; or will we listen to the word and command of God and pray?
Rev. Danny Olinger is General Secretary of Christian Education for the OPC.
