The Infinite Chasm

Aim: To recognize and appreciate the sovereign grace of God.

Exegesis: Our fallen nature is completely doomed to hell, because it is bound to sin (v. 23), powerless against sin (v. 24a), committed to sin (v. 24b), and born to sin (v. 25). Our new nature is completely redeemed by grace. We can do nothing to effect our salvation (v. 26); God performs miracles to effect our salvation (v. 27).
