Exodus 7: 14
'And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened,he refuseth to let the people go.'

The Bible has a lot to say about the heart. If you look up a reliable computer search, you will find that there are over 700 references made to the heart.

The majority of these references are not to do with the physical heart but with the inner person - the mind, emotion and will.

If we had a physical heart problem it would certainly cause concern - how much more should a spiritual heart problem cause us to think ?

There is a saying that the same sun that melts the ice, hardens the clay. And in Pharaoh we see a man who was dealt with by God, and yet his heart grew harder instead of softer.

As you sit under the preaching of the Gospel, it will either have a softening or hardening effect.

To have a hardened heart is to be in a very dangerous situation. Dear sinner, come to Christ, while yet your heart is tender and receptive to the Word of God.

Rev William McDermott takes a look at this man Pharaoh, who had the serious problem of a hardened heart:

  1. The Word Of God As Received By Pharaoh

  2. The Will Of God As Rejected By Pharaoh

  3. The Wrath Of God As Revealed To Pharaoh

Hebrews 3: 15 'While it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.'
