Abraham's Expectation of Provision

What was going through Abraham's mind as he traveled the three day journey to Moriah to sacrifice Isaac? We're given clues by the things he says: first to the young men & then to Isaac. In the last study we considered his expectation of life: that he & Isaac would worship & return. In this study we consider his expectation of provision. In repsonse to Isaac's question concerning the sacrificial lamb, Abraham asserts his confidence that "God will provide for Himself a lamb". These are prophectic words concerning Christ Himself & instructive for our faith & service to our Lord. Abraham presses on in the way of obedience, confident that at the right time, the Lord will act to reveal His provision. Let us live by faith in obedience to His Word & know indeed that God will provide!
