The Parable of the Sower

Do we understand the secret of the kingdom of God? Do we become discouraged at the lack of permanent results in those who hear the gospel? Are we alert to things that devour, wither and choke the word even in our own hearts? Are we careful how we hear? Have we realized the amazing reproductive power of God's word such that when it finds good soil it produces a harvest beyond all expectation?
Jesus understood that much of His proclamation would end in failure and disappointment but He also trusted implicitly in the victory that His Father had promised Him. He did not doubt the power of His word when sown in good soil to produce a glorious harvest and neither should we!
