The Church and Social Responsibility

Personal responsibilities are not necessarily or specifically responsibilities of the corporate church. However, both individuals personally and the church corporately, must be consistent in practicing the truths professed to believe as their theology. For believers in the church the foremost responsibility to the world lived in is the proclamation of the gospel and the practice of the Word of God to be the witness to the world. This unbelievers cannot do for themselves and is what they need more than and before anything else. Unbelievers can bring relief in difficult circumstances by humanitarian efforts but those are temporal solutions that only provide a momentary cover for the real and bigger problems of life. Believers who have the truth of the Gospel must be faithful in keeping it unmixed and unchanged from the Word as God has given it and then give it out. To collectively stay in the huddle of the church and not spread out to give out the Gospel message is to fall short of God's purposes, individually and corporately, for His church.
