The Peace Offering and the Believer

The book of Leviticus is a picture book filled with blazing shadows cast by the cross of Christ. In the peace offering we are shown the worshipper participating in a sacrifice that ends with a shared feast. To the Old Testament believer this was the effect of being at peace with God. For the New Testament believer we see the fulfilment of this sacrifice in Christ's atoning death that has brought us peace with God - and we regularly join in a communal meal at the Lord's Table.
