Questions of Authority

As chapter 11 comes to a close, the religious leaders approach Jesus and ask Him where His authority comes from to do what He has been doing, especially in regards to clearing the Temple. Instead of directly answering them, Jesus responds with a question of His own and that question turns the question of authority back on them. We cannot leave this text without reflecting deeply on the authority of Jesus and how we respond to His authority.
