Faith and Conscience

In these ten verses Paul addresses three essential elements of life in God’s Kingdom here on earth. First we are to live intentionally Kingdom oriented lives. In Christ we don’t live for ourselves, but all that we do is to be subservient to Him. Second we are to make sure that the way we live is edifying to the saints in our life. We must never underestimate the influence and power of persuasion we have on others for good or bad. We are to build one another up and not destroy. Third, we are to sanctify our lives unto the Lord, every part. This requires intense personal scrutiny in which we continually ask ourselves the questions: “is this of faith” and “is this unto the Lord?” If we keep the three priorities of the Kingdom in place – righteousness, peace and joy - while seeking the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit - our fellowship with God will be sweeter, our communion with the saints will be more meaningful, and we will see that we are being made more Christ-like in our sacred journey in the new life we have been given.
