Invited to the Table of the Lord

Before participating in the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Communion, the Sacred Scriptures teach us and Lord's Day 30 of the Heidelberg Catechism confirms that individuals must first engage in a personal “spiritual inventory” to see whether or not, by God's grace, they pass a three part test which would enable them to respond in sincerity and truth to the invitation to come to the Lord's Table.
