Prophesy in Song

Eavesdropping On Heaven
Whenever we read the Bible we are hearing from God – He speaks to us in His Word. But there are occasions when we actually have a record of what might be called an inter-trinitarian dialogue. One of the most profound instances of this is found in Psalm 110 in which we are invited to eavesdrop on a conversation between the Eternal Father and the Eternal Son. We discover content there that is so rich that it touches upon just about every aspect of the Christian confession, especially with regard to the person of Messiah or the Christ. Many Psalms are prophetic, and many Messianic, but this one is so full of anticipation of Jesus that it is quoted in the New Testament more than any other Psalm. We can still meditate in wonder over the content of this great Psalm, but we don’t have to wonder who it is about – He is the Jesus the Christ, Son of the Living God!
