No Marriage in Heaven

In this one verse, Jesus gives us much to think about. He tells the Sadducees that they are greatly mistaken about the resurrection and eternal life. There is no marriage in heaven. This has profound implications for married couples and singles. If our marriages are not eternal, then marriage cannot be the central issue of life. If my earthly marriage is not eternal, then I shouldn't turn my spouse into a god or goddess. Why is marriage temporary? Because the believer is married to Jesus Christ and the relationship with Christ is the fundamental and overarching relationship of eternity. This, too, has profound implications, which we will explore.
