The Outpouring of the Spirit

What really happened on the day of Pentecost? We are not left to guess because Jesus announced that the disciples would know the Spirit because he would be in them. Jesus would come to them, and he and the Father would be in the disciples. The disciples would know they were in the Father and Son. In this way, they were transferred to the kingdom of the Son and understood the Father's love as those who were participating in its action. No wonder they announced the wonderful deeds of God! The love of the cross now possessed them.
