Judge Not? (Luke 6:37)
Series Luke: The Gospel of Joy
66
"Judge not lest you be judged" (Luke 6:37) has become the most well-known and oft-quoted verse in America today. It has become our culture's guard against any sense of moral discernment, spiritual orthodoxy, and Biblical wisdom. But in reality, our culture has no idea what this verse actually means. Jesus does not explicitly prohibit all kinds of judging, for that would make us the most foolish people in the world. Instead, Jesus is prohibiting a specific type of judging, one which is marked by pride and a critical spirit. Listen along Pastor Mark teaches first, what this verse doesn't mean, followed by what it does mean.
