On The Night When He Was Betrayed

22

In this sermon we take a slight break from 1 Peter to spend some time reflecting upon the significance of the Lord's Supper. It can be easy to only think of certain aspects of our salvation when we have the Supper. Perhaps what is most on your mind is the forgiveness of sins that we have through the work of Christ. Did you know that the Supper also prepares us to suffer well as God's people? This aspect has become all the more clear to me as we've been studying 1 Peter, and I'm excited for us to explore this together, particularly through the lens of the Apostle Paul's words of institution in 1 Cor 11:23.

In preparation for listening to this sermon, it would be helpful to read through Matthew 26 and notice how prominent the themes of betrayal (delivered up, handed over) and reviling are in the narrative.
