Children of God or Children of the Devil

199 ( 129 | 70 )

Overview: Jesus stated He was the light of the world. If it was not true, He would have to be crazy, however it is true. When Jesus stated that the witness who testified for Him is God the Father, He knew that the religious leaders would not believe. God owns the whole Universe and when we state that we want to do things our way and disregard God, it is foolish. If we try to state that we are not sure if we are for God or against God, we have made ourselves against God. John tells us upfront who Jesus is, then we get to see the story unfold.
Who we are is not all about our bodies, they are the houses we live in and are temporary. In our natural state we are all slaves to sin. If we try to do anything in our own power we will fail time and time again. Jesus tells us that He, the Son, will set us free. If we trust and obey Jesus, we will find that His way actually brings freedom. When someone says we are all God's children, remember the word's of Christ; "If God were your Father, you would love Me...". Instead He called some people the children of the devil. Do we truly love Jesus? It is very possible that someone who was a child of the devil can become a child of God, that is how Christians came about. Jesus is the dividing line between children of God and children of the devil. For people who do not love God, the truth is offensive and they get angry with it. What we believe about Jesus makes a difference. What we believe about Jesus, determines who we are.
