Fruit, Longsuffering: It's redemptive
Series The Holy Spirit
368
Longsuffering is more than simple patience: it points to how we deal with people who anger us.
When God is longsuffering it always has to do with his putting up with people. God's longsuffering is redemptive for believers, but for those who refuse to repent and believe, God's longsuffering means that he is setting up these unbelievers for sudden and unexpected judgment.
Because we belong to Jesus, we, too, must put up with others, demostrating the goodness and kindness of God. But this longsuffering is not a natural response; it is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
