Jephthah and His Daughter

Jephthah is listed as 'a man of faith' in Hebrews 11. However, as his life is examined, we also see mirrored the many shortcoming and superstitions that plagued the entire nation of Israel at this time. Extensive examination is made concerning the question of whether or not Jephthah offered his daughter as a burnt offering, and the answer comes back as a yes.

Moral lessons are drawn from the life of Jephthah. His life raises some very hard questions for all of us, but we serve a very big God, and there are many unanswered questions in life as to 'why'.
