Pouting, Politics and Power
We're all going to be held accountable for the things that we fight for. Why? Because the things we fight for will be the things that we value most in life. And if what we are fighting for is our rights but we're not fighting or valuing to be right with God, our motives, no matter how popular they may be, will always be subject and questionable. Why do I say this? For God says that [every] way of a man is right in his own eyes but it's the Lord who weighs the spirit.
The question is not, am I right in this? The question is, is God right? And if God is right, do I believe that He is right. And if I believe that He is right, do I act on what He said, or do I believe my rights supersede how He sees a thing. Better yet, do I consider what He considers, or do I do what I feel is right for me? Do I understand the consequences of undermining Him and go after what I want? Absalom is a great example of humanity defending itself at the high cost of damaging and destroying others along the way because they believe they deserve better and more.
