The church at Thyatira was praised by our Lord for its growth in faith and good works, but it was rebuked strongly for its toleration of false teaching which encouraged God's people to follow after idolatry and sin. Sardis received the strongest rebuke from the Lord because it claimed to be alive in Christ but was dead. Both letters have wonderful promises for those that overcome.
