The Controversy: (v 3&4)
- Over cirucmcision
- Raised by false brethren, pseudo-Christians
- They said you needed to be a Jew first before you could become a Christian.
- Titus was not a Jew, which Paul used as an emphatic example of salvation by faith.
The Conviction of Paul (v 5&6) - Strong!
- No Compromise
- Paul's convictions were based on the Authority of the Word of God.
- Paul did not compromise because he wanted the truth of the Gospel to continue.
The Call (v 7 & 8) - The apostles recognized Paul's call to the Gentiles. (v 8)
- Peter and Paul were both empowered by the Holy Spirit.
The Cooperation (verse 9) - The right hand of fellowship to Paul and Barnabus as their mutual recognition of their common enterprise.
The Challenge (verse 10)
