For This Purpose

Jesus taught the people of Capernaum at the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Due to the size of the crowd that pressed Him to hear the Word of God, and knowing the amplifying quality of water, Jesus borrowed Peter's boat to put out a little. This was the third time that Peter heard Jesus call Him to follow Him. On this occasion, Jesus humbles Peter and reveals the requirements for submission. The results of this encounter are that Peter, James, and John everything and followed Him. Jesus was now ready to appoint them as His apostles (6:12ff).
