I John - Introduction - 05

This epistle, like the Gospel of John, was written to believers already in possession of eternal life. It was not written for the purpose of getting a person to initially believe or to get eternal life. Also, it was written so that the people of God would know God and walk in obedience to the commandments of God. Equally, it was written to warn believers against false doctrine.
