Watch and Pray!

In the C.S. Lewis story 'The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe', the coming of Aslan and the end of the evil Witch's reign was indicated by the end of Winter. In the same way that this thaw indicated that the power of evil had been broken in Narnia, so too Jesus uses the parable of the fig tree to tell us that there will be signs prior to his coming to encourage and remind us that the King of Kings is returning. Therefore let us not slumber or be taken captive by a world that is passing away - rather let us watch and pray that we might be always ready for His return!
