Back to the Basics

The first five verses of Galatians are Paul's blueprint of where he is going in the rest of the letter. First, he shows the certainty of his apostleship, that he was sent by Christ, not men. Then he shows the centrality of Christ's cross to his gospel. We can be right with a holy God simply and solely through faith in Christ; we are justified by faith alone. When struggling with sin, we look not to the law, but find power to fight by looking to Christ and the cross through the Holy Spirit.
