Six Truths To Build Upon

The concern of this message, interpretatively, is to identify the six constituent parts of "the elementary teaching about the Christ" (truths which make up the foundation upon which a superstructure of greater understanding and practice is to be built) which are named in Hebrews 6:1c-2. The primary interpretative lenses through each is viewed is set forth and then attention is given to each of the six. "Instruction about washings/baptisms and the laying on of hands" (6:2a) are, perhaps, the most challenging to understand with certainty. Finally, the disposition accompanying the exhortation to press on to maturity is expounded in 6:3 ('And this we shall do, if God permits."
