Growth of True Knowledge of Christ

Second Peter is a book warning believers about the false teachers that will infiltrate and then attack the church with their deceptive teaching. Peter concisely lays out what the foundation of the genuine believers is, and then he gives a strong warning about the false teachers who corrupt the very truth of the gospel by which salvation comes.

This message, in summary fashion, overviews the first half of this second letter of Peter.

He began by drawing the attention of his readers to the work of God and His provision for their salvation. He follows up with what is their responsibilities and the subsequent growth that should be ongoing in their lives. Peter makes it clear that with the strength and power that God's power supplies, the believer then applies his every effort, with all diligence to grow in godliness.

This brief review of the Truth reminds them, as belivers, they are equipped to discern what is false teaching by having the light of the Truth of God's Word to reveal what is not true.
