The Setting As Paul First Writes Timothy

Paul visited Ephesus a second time, but had to move on to Macedonia, so he left Timothy behind to put things in order. Ephesus was a vile place, but the problems Timothy was to address were in the church. False doctrine and false teachers in the church,and a failure to function biblically.
