Judging

218 ( 152 | 66 )

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” This verse is widely taken out of context. We are to judge but we need to do so after we have inspected ourselves. Jesus said we need to be able to tell the difference between dogs and pigs. Paul the apostles called himself the chief of sinners, yet he called out sin in the church. Jesus says not to judge in a hypocritical way and in a way that makes it seem that we are the standard. But Jesus says to judge the difference between something sacred and valuable and whether or not to give them to dogs and pigs. We are to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking not to pester God, but because we know that God, our Heavenly Father, loves us. We should want whatever God decides is best. He knows everything. We need to treat others the way we want to be treated. Jesus commands us not to judge wrongly, but to judge rightly.
