In the Parable of the Marriage Supper the absence of covering of righteousness was the single cause of judgment (Matthew 22:11-13). It was ignorance of this righteousness that condemned the nation(Rom 10:3). It is knowledge of this righteousness that separated the wise and the unwise virgins in this opening parable.
