Abraham's Trial

Abraham's faith is mature and ready to face the most severe trial yet. With one sentence God seems to wipe away all that Abraham has believed and lived for his whole life. Just when the promises have become a reality and his dreams have been realized, he has to sacrifice them all to God. We must trust in God alone, not in his blessings, or his performance, or even in his promises. God must be OUR sovereign in a very personal and real way. This is where, as we are told in the book of Galatians, the Gospel was preached to Abraham.
